Restore the desktop and save its layout

After signing in, open Desktop settings on the bottom taskbar. A tab's temporary desktop and a named saved workspace are separate states.

New users start with This tab only recovery and Layout autosave OFF. Moving windows, navigating pages, or reconnecting does not itself rewrite a saved layout.

Recovery modes

ModeRetained state
This tab onlyMemory state for the tab's lifetime.
After reloadThe same tab's state after reload.
Across sessionsState tied to the same user, origin, and tab, including a browser restart.

If tab identity is lost, you can choose the previous recovery explicitly. The application does not substitute the most recent tab automatically. Another user does not receive the previous user's content.

Save and load

Use Save layout for an explicit save. Load saved layout reads the latest saved arrangement. Reset desktop uses the default. Already open draft and chat editors retain unsaved content. Draft content autosave is separate from layout autosave.

Layout autosave saves the arrangement when enabled. It does not save message content. MailGen desktop recovery does not apply to Account Admin.

If restoration reports an unavailable or locked source, keep the current editor content and resolve source access. See saved window snapshots and browser defaults.
