Understand the application database name

The physical PostgreSQL database name is mailGen. Login, authorization, mailbox, and Complexity records occupy separate schemas inside it. See environment configuration for connections.

Changing an older installation's database name is a data-preserving maintenance operation. Preserve its volume. Do not replace it with an empty database. The operator must check connections and backups together.

A schema is a database namespace. It is not another mailbox or login identity. See application architecture.
