Edit calendar notes from chat

Open Complexity, select your owned connected mailbox, and enable updateCalendarEvent. Calendar update permission, the product license, and the tool's group grant are required. Microsoft calendars need Graph setup.

updateCalendarEvent updates an exact calendar event or occurrence. Its event object requires title, start, end, allDay, and location. Only notes is optional. A notes-only payload fails validation.

Read the exact current event before requesting a notes edit. Retain its title, start, end, all-day state, and location in the update. Do not invent defaults for those fields.

title contains 1–200 trimmed characters. location accepts up to 300 characters, including an empty string. start and end are ISO timestamps with offsets. End must follow start.

The server also reads the current event and its ETag, a provider revision identifier. An occurrence update does not change the entire recurring series. The tool rejects series masters.

An explicit notes value requests plain-text note replacement. Empty text clears notes. Omitting notes preserves the existing body and does not write the provider preview back. Notes accept at most 2,000 characters.

The Microsoft path permits this only for an editable plain-text event without attendees or online-meeting content. The Microsoft path rejects HTML, protected meeting bodies, unknown event types, and missing revisions. The provider write uses If-Match, then exact raw-text readback. Unconfirmed notes return CALENDAR_NOTES_UPDATE_UNCONFIRMED rather than a false success.

On a revision conflict, reread the event before requesting another edit. Do not overwrite another window's changes automatically. See reading complete notes and calendar actions.
