Control which generated-view inputs reach the model
In Complexity, use Submit input below the composer to control disclosure for the next normal message. Editing or saving a form does not itself authorize sending values to the model. A view's own Submit(label) button is a separate explicit action.
Policies
| Setting | New chat | After an accepted normal message | Existing chat |
|---|---|---|---|
per-message-off | OFF | Resets to OFF | Can turn ON for the next message. |
new-chat-off | OFF | Retains the choice | Uses its own saved choice. |
new-chat-on | ON | Retains the choice | Uses its own saved choice. |
The default is per-message-off. Global settings seed only new chats. They do not reseed existing chats. Older nullable preferences mean OFF. Failed collection or admission preserves message draft, form values, and consent. Enter/Ctrl+Enter behavior remains separate.
Snapshots and source identity
Normal OFF omits uiSubmission. Normal ON considers completed outputs on the active history branch, including unmounted sidebar tabs. A changed instance compares against its last accepted submission for that instance/revision, or otherwise authored defaults. Returning a previously submitted value to its default also counts as a change.
Each selected instance sends its complete declared input field set, including unchanged/default inputs. A linked group appears once with its canonical member list. Independent outputs keep separate identities. Fields classified ui or secret, passwords, generated source, and renderer internals are excluded.
The request snapshot contains key, baseVersion, and typed values. Intent is normal or explicit. The key identifies message, tool, output, answer revision, and UI revision. Clients cannot define canonical group membership or field classification.
Each request can contain at most 32 snapshots. Each snapshot can contain at most 64 scalar values and 16384 bytes. The complete submission limit is 65536 UTF-8 bytes.
Explicit Submit(label) sends only the bound output/group's complete inputs, even unchanged ones. It does not read or clear composer text, attachments, mentions, references, or consent. Generated source supplies the label only, not another output key or arbitrary callback. Button(Action(Set/Reset)) remains local.
If collection or admission fails, correct the indicated error and retry explicitly. A saved form is not evidence that the model received its values.
