Understand prompts and the chat task list

Administrators configure tenant instructions in the authorized prompt and agent-profile editors. Empty personal or role settings follow effective inherited defaults. See agent profiles and AI governance.

During a run, Complexity can show a task list above the composer. It describes the agent's plan and task state. A completed task marker does not replace provider confirmation for its mailbox operation.

The run obeys enabled tools and context, quota, and step limits. Programmatic continuation grants no new mailbox rights. Stop interrupts active work. Continue can request another continuation from retained state.

A prompt or task list is not approval. Sending and other protected actions still require their separate confirmation card. Inspect operation status in Sync Center before treating a mailbox task as confirmed.
