Read folder details from chat

Select your mailbox in Complexity and enable readMailFolder. The tool needs mail.read, a MailGen license, and a separate group grant. This read needs no mutation approval.

Canonical read

The tool accepts only exact folderId. The tool uses GET /folder?id=.... Fresh actor context supplies mailbox identity. The model cannot supply account, user, mailbox identity, or URL.

The standardized folder middleware checks returned ID and owner. Prisma reads an active owned row. The m365local getter excludes folders under deletion.

Result and replay

The result contains ID, name up to 200 characters, and nullable description up to 2,000 characters. It also contains parent ID and nullable sort order. Flags identify truncated strings. Local timestamps use ISO format. Unavailable provider timestamps are null.

The result excludes sorter regexes, rules, model settings, and automation metadata. HTTP responses use private, no-store.

Stored source replay rechecks original account, current permissions, grant, license, tool selection, ownership, and folder existence. Deleted folders and lost access prevent cached output from becoming new model context.

Calendar notes use separate read and edit contracts. Folder reading grants neither.
